He’s a fairly new YouTuber? Or it’s a fairly new Jeep? Or he’s fairly new at offroading? Or he’s a new human being, like a toddler?
I’m not sure how to interpret that part.

Accidents like this are one reason I’ve been hesitant about continuing to be an organizer for my Jeep club. People can always be relied upon to make poor decisions.

He could be a toddler with a new Jeep making his first video of his first off road experience. Hits all the buttons.

How do things like this work? For autocross, you got nasa or scca guidelines to follow, and you sign a waiver, and anything after that is on you (provided guidelines were followed correctly). Is an event like this just a "hey, let's all meet up?" Is there a governing or sanctioning body associated?

We have a waiver people sign, but I don’t know how well it’s enforced, and I don’t have any great level of confidence it would protect us from a lawsuit.
As paying members of a large 4 wheeling organization we have insurance that will cover one event each year, but I don’t know how that works.
I’m actually more worried about road rallies, which we do once or twice a year. They’re slow speeds, mostly, but locals in the rural communities tend to assume there’s no one coming as they zip around blind corners. My nephew and I came within a foot or two of a head-on collision with one idiot last year, and I don’t have airbags.
